Also, just a reminder that we have all of our other 2019 boxes on sale (while supplies last) for just $50 each, tax included. They're available here, and can be sent as gifts, just like our holiday boxes.
Now, without further ado, let us introduce our 2019 Holiday Box partners...
Real Canadian tea, supporting real Canadian women.
At Sarjesa, they believe in the power of simple, flavourful, and recognizable ingredients. That’s why their supply chain is steeped in the good stuff: from the quality tea leaves sourced from small and ethical farms overseas, to the Alberta-grown herbs and flowers, their products are curated intentionally for you.
At Sarjesa, they believe that we, as Canadians, have the ability to affect change through our everyday actions and purchases. That's why 20% of profits from each box sold are donated to impactful violence prevention programs for women in crisis. They believe that everyone benefits when women are supported, respected and empowered; and they know that you do, too.
Working with Elders and community members, their blends are beautifully crafted in conversation with the land around them, and contain no hidden preservatives, additives, human exploitation, or trickery. Any ingredient that they don’t source locally comes from certified fair trade and organic farms. Their teabags are made from compostable paper, and their packaging is recyclable, emphasizing their belief that the planet is just as important as the people they serve.
Each Holiday Box contains a box of Sarjesa's Prairie Wilds tea. Made entirely with plants that can be found in Alberta’s vast expanse of prairie grass, this blend of sage and peppermint with subtle hints of rose will remind you to pause, step back, and reconnect with the local lands we all love.
The concept of ChocoSol was originally founded in 2004 in Oaxaca, Mexico, and has been based in Toronto since 2006. They are a business and social enterprise set on transforming cacao, the "food of the gods" into bean-to-bar and stone-ground, artisanal dark chocolate. They roast, winnow, and stone-grind all of their cacao fresh and on-site in Toronto. They believe in making chocolate food, not candy. All of their chocolates range between 65% to 100% cacao content, are low-sugar, and are free of dairy, soy, gluten, nuts, preservatives, fillers and artificial flavours.
Their cacao is organic and shade-grown, and sourced direct-trade from Indigenous communities in the Lacondon Jungle of Chiapas and the Oaxacan mountains of Southern Mexico. In recent years, they have also expanded their trade relationships with social and ecological projects in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Guatemala. Their horizontal trade relationships with farmers go beyond the mere exchange of commodities and extend to reciprocity, ecological re-generation, and friendship.
Our Good Stuff Holiday boxes contain an assortment of bars from Chocosol's Rustico and Specialty lines. What flavour will you get?
In Haiti, up to 80% of children living in orphanages have living family. Because poverty is a huge contributing factor for parents placing their children in orphanages, Little by Little seeks to empower Haitian parents through job creation and financial stability.
Located in Minoterie, about 45 minutes north of the capital of Port-au-Prince, Little by Little works in partnership with Tytoo Gardens Orphanage who refers at-risk parents to them and helps foster relationships. Once the parents have been referred, Little by Little hires them to begin a per diem training phase while they learn the skills needed to make Little by Little products. Once the training period has been completed, employees are paid per piece created, and their earning potential increases. The products created are then sold at markets, festivals, shows, and online, with the proceeds returning to be reinvested in the organization and its employees.
At Little by Little, they believe that sustainable business can offer solutions to many of the problems facing the people of Haiti. Their goal is to create ethically sourced, beautifully designed products, and to care holistically for the people of Haiti.
Each Holiday Box features one of their beautiful Plum Jasper bracelets. We're sure you're going to love them.
Good Stuff Founder, Vanessa, first met Shelley Snow (mastermind behind She Sells Sanctuary) when she visited her booth at a summer craft market. This was before Good Stuff even existed, and yet something drew Vanessa to start up a conversation and take home one of Shelley's brochures. Years later, Good Stuff launched, and Vanessa was thrilled to be able to reach out to Shelley to talk about a partnership between their two organizations.
Shelley is passionate about Nepal and loves everything about it - the stunning alluring landscape, the mountains, the sacred ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples, the succulent and fresh food... but mostly the beautiful, generous, and compassionate people.
The handmade handicrafts she sells are all sourced from select Fair Trade charities, NGOs and community groups that are fighting what she calls 'The Good Fight', making a significant direct contribution towards a better, kinder world by assisting in the areas of poverty reduction, healthcare, education, orphan care, combatting sex trafficking, and supporting women in crisis.
"I am deeply proud to support these organizations. I love what they make and how they strive to heal and reduce poverty and suffering in their local communities. By purchasing these goods you allow me to directly pay fair funds into the pockets of these organizations and skilled artisans permitting them the ability to live with dignity and self-determination. On behalf of all the skilled crafts people who made these goods I sincerely thank you for your support" - Shelley Snow
Each Good Stuff Holiday box will contain an adorable hand-felted Christmas ornament from Shelley's Nepalese suppliers. Designs will vary.
During a leisure trip to Asia in 2006, Ever Bamboo founder, KB, came across a bamboo charcoal odour neutralizer & dehumidifier in a store. Intrigued, he researched further about bamboo charcoal and its benefits. Through his research, he learned that bamboo charcoal is natural, sustainable, reusable, and recyclable. Combined with its eco-friendly attributes, it also absorbs excess moisture while neutralizing odour which led him to wonder, "Conventional air fresheners are often chemical-filled and toxic, masking odours instead of eliminating them. Wouldn't this odour neutralizer solve many stinky problems in North America?". And with that, Ever Bamboo was born.
Ever Bamboo launched in 2007 with products being sold at various festivals throughout Calgary to garner interest and capture consumer curiosity. A few Canadian and US retailers started to carry the product line in 2008 which pushed Ever Bamboo into the North American market. The breakthrough moment for the company came in August 2014 when Ever Bamboo odour neutralizer products were featured on The View as one of Whoopi Goldberg's 'Favourite Things'. With the subsequent overwhelming response and boost in brand awareness, the brand has since expanded into Australia and the United Kingdom.
Each Good Stuff Holiday box will feature a pack of Ever Bamboo's mini deodorizer + dehumidifiers. Perfect for gym bags, lockers, luggage, coolers, or any other small spaces where odour or humidity are of concern. With proper care, these minis will last for up to a year, at which point they can be cut open and mixed into garden soil to help regulate moisture.
Mountainview Essentials is the passion project of superstar daughter-in-law / mother-in-law team, Danielle & Sabine Kiel from Hope, BC.
Danielle first became interested in essential oils and the therapeutic benefits when her children were born. Over time, she was inspired to combine this interest with Sabine's talent as a potter and just like that, Mountainview Essentials was born!
Since early 2017, they've been creating unique pottery pieces, hand-poured soy candles and natural perfumes. They believe that Mother Nature has the best to offer which is why they use only pure essential oils to scent their products. It's also why they strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible, encouraging customers to reuse and repurpose their products once they're finished with them.
Each Good Stuff Holiday box will contain an exclusive coupon for Mountainview's online shop, available only for Good Stuff customers. (Don't you feel special?)
