Looking Back, Looking Forward

Where has the year gone?! On this final day of 2019, we decided it was a good time to take a look back at all that we've done this year, and provide a little sneak peek of what we've got in store for 2020.

Good Stuff formally launched in January of this year with our introductory Welcome Box, featuring fabulous products from our friends at Didi Bahini, Balzac's Coffee, SCHMEAR, Level Ground Trading, NAGI, Turmeric Teas, & Vancouver Island Salt Co. Although we thought our products and subscription model were pretty great, it still surprised us to see the orders pouring in right off the bat. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased a Welcome Box and helped us get the ball rolling. We promise you we did a little happy dance for every single order.

Early in the year, we also partnered with The Island Jar and Manitoulin Marketplace to offer some customer favourite items for sale individually. Products such as our Turmeric Tea, face masks, sea salt, and recycled sari scarves were made available in-store at The Island Jar (15 Water St. E in Little Current, ON), and online through Manitoulin Marketplace. We are so grateful for Aline, owner of both businesses, for her ongoing support and guidance. Aline, you are the best. Hooray for women supporting women!

After we finished the first wave of Welcome Boxes, we wasted no time getting ready for our second box of the year, the June Box. Here we featured products from our friends at Ardor + Wild, Balzacs, Nana+Livy, Sudsatorium, Level Ground Trading, Baru Baron, & Anxiously Awesome

At the same time, we were busily getting ready for our first market of the year (or ever!), Northern Lights Festival Boreal, which we attended with our friend Heartwood Kombucha. The festival was definitely a TON of work, but we had a blast meeting so many new people and introducing the Sudbury community to Good Stuff. Big thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi!

Once we got home and recuperated from Festival Boreal, we jumped right into prepping for our third box of the year, the September Box. This one had a bit of a 'back to school' theme, with products from EcoEquitable, Goldilocks Wraps, Brush Naked, routine, Honey Candles, Ever Bamboo, Balm Girls, and Made with Local. This one was definitely a fan favourite, which made us so happy! We love it when you love our stuff. After all, we do it for you.

As soon as we got our September Box orders shipped out, it was time to prep for our second market of the year, a local holiday market known as Christmas in Kagawong. This three-day market is held in one of our local community halls, and is a favourite holiday shopping event for Islanders and visitors, alike. The market definitely got us in the Christmas spirit, and we were so pleased to have the opportunity to chat with customers and other local business owners. There's just something so special about the holiday season that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

After the market, it was back to the grind assembling, packing, and shipping out our special edition Holiday Boxes to customers all over the country. These boxes included products from several new partners, including Chocosol Traders (because what's Christmas without a little chocolate?), Sarjesa, Ever Bamboo, She Sells Sanctuary, Little by Little Haiti, Revive Superfoods, and Mountainview Essentials. We felt like little Christmas elves getting all of these boxes packed and sent out to you... we may have even worn our tacky Christmas sweaters to add a little extra festive spirit. (You're welcome).

And because we weren't quite busy enough, we decided to squeeze one more market in, closing off the year with a Holiday Pop-Up at Kuppajo Espresso Bar in Sudbury, ON. The folks at Kuppajo are passionate about community involvement, displaying and selling locally-made goods throughout the cafe, making their space available to local musicians looking to play, and offering their signature suspended coffee program. We love their mission and were so thrilled to be able to work with them on our little pop-up. Thanks so much to Kuppajo for hosting us, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. There are certainly worse things than spending a cold winter day sipping cappuccinos and eating pastries in a cafe.

And now, we're at the end of 2019, and we don't know where the time has gone. We are eternally grateful for your support and encouragement along the way. We seriously could have not done this without all of you.

Now for a brief break before we jump right back in to planning out our four boxes for 2020. We have some really exciting partners lined up for next year, and we can't wait to introduce you to them! If you want to be one of the first to know, be sure to subscribe to our email list and follow us on Instagram so you don't miss out on any updates.

Thank you again. We hope you have a wonderful evening and ring in the new year in whatever way you like best. See you in January, friends ❤️
