It's summer festival season, and here at Good Stuff Box, we kicked it off in style, attending Northern Lights Festival Boreal (Canada's longest continually-running outdoor music festival) from July 5-8 in Sudbury's Bell Park with our friend Connor of Heartwood Kombucha.
(👆notice our Chocolate Groove friends setting up in the background)
This year was the 48th edition of the Festival, and featured headliner artists such as Bedouin Soundclash, Sam Roberts Band, and K'NAAN. There were also a ton of vendors, ranging from festival classics like Beaver Tails, to local crafters & makers, to nonprofit groups, and just about everyone in between. Even our former charity partner from quarter one, Zawadi la Tumaini, was there selling goods from their Olive & Annie line, so we had a great time catching up and visiting with Jacquie throughout the weekend.
We bought some great pants from our new friends at Moon River Apothecary (seriously, do yourself a favour and check them out - these are our new favourite summer pants AND they have pockets!). We drank cacao and listened to the same six-minute song on repeat for a couple of hours then laughed about it later with our new friends from Chocolate Groove. We set up our tent and attached the tarp cover, then hid in the one dry corner while the rain came in sideways about two minutes later. We drank far too much coffee and are honestly still sort of working on weaning ourselves off (#icedcoffeeislife).
Festival Boreal, you were a whirlwind and a blast. Until next time✌️
What festival or market do you think we should hit up next? If you have a recommendation, drop us a line and let us know.
